Trip Itinerary

10:00 AM - Shuttle pickup
10:45 AM - Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration
Our tour will start with a visit to the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration. Located on a rocky hill below the ruins of a Byzantine fort, it is the perfect place to start discovering the real Crete! While taking in the panoramic views, and surrounded by caves and flourishes of wild herbs, we will enjoy the unique architecture and impressive mosaic floors that the monastery offers. There is also the opportunity to visit some of the caves!
12:10 AM - Gorge of Therisso
Our next stop is the historical village of Therisso, but to get there we must first drive through the beautiful and imposing Therisso Gorge! There will be several stops along the way to enjoy the natural scenery, the impressive, towering cliffs and if we’re lucky, we may even meet a few flocks of goats and sheep!
12:40 AM - Therisso Village
At the end of the gorge lay Therisso village. Vital to the Cretan revolution, we will discovery its charming stone square sat under the shade of the trees, the beautiful old church and the monument of “Eleutherios Venizelos”.
13:30 PM - Lunch
After Therisso, we will travel through small, picturesque villages to a traditional family-run taverna. As authentic as it gets and surrounded by stunning sea and mountains views, we will enjoy a delicious lunch cooked by the grandmother of the family, using time-honoured and very tasty recipes!

Details regarding the cancellation policy: In the event you have to cancel, a full refund will be offered unless the cancellation occurs within 7 days of the start of the tour, in which case 50% of the full amount will be refunded. The date and time of the cancellation is taken from the moment written confirmation is received by IMable Travel. Lastly, please also note that any payments are subject to transaction fees and variations in exchange rates depending on payment method, so prices may vary by a few percent.
